FTR -- Years with winning Rice football records between 1963 (6-4) and 2006 (7-6):

1992 - (6-5)
1993 - (6-5)
1996 - (7-4)
1997 - (7-4)
2001 - (8-4)

(The Owls also had 5-5 and 5-5-1 records in 1970 and 1972, respectively)

The 6th win in 1992 was at HRS against Navy, complete with lightening bolts (seemed appropriate) and I believe, some game delay. We had a flight to catch that evening for a Thanksgiving trip to AZ, but I didn’t want to leave, recognizing a win would deliver something I hadn’t seen since matriculating in 1973, a winning season.
