RE: NFL Combine predictions for SS
Mel Kiper was on Chicago radio this afternoon (Carmen & Jurko show) and was asked about the 2 NIU players at the Combine.

About Max: Kiper said that Polian compared him to Diem and that his versatility virtually guarantees him to go in the 3rd or 4th Round at the latest. Considering he was projected as a 4th Round prospect by most prior to the Combine, it appears Max raised his stock a bit.

About Sutton: "I watched him run, he can get up and down quickly, he's always hustling. He's quick, he gets through the drills well but the short arms are going to be the issue. You get into the middle rounds, late rounds of the draft with Special Teams, he's shown great pass rush ability. He certainly has an opportunity to stick on a roster. More of a Day 3 type of pick."

Mel didn't discount him being drafted like he did other players he was asked about, so Sutton may go undrafted but there's probably enough "buzz" around him that he'll go late rounds.

Maybe Belichick will use one of his five 7th Round picks the Pats always seem to collect on draft day on him.
