please name the conservative policy that made, say, detroit a shithole.
Hell, name the conservative policy or policies that made any liberal hellhole a hellhole.
It's not enough that the Dems have implemented local rules and policies that have wrecked large cities such as Detroit and Chicago. Now they are doing it on a larger scale with legislation such as huge taxes and Sanctuary city/state policies in states like California and New York. Citizens - legal tax payers at least - are leaving those states in droves, being run off by extreme Liberal laws such as those I mentioned among others.
We've already witnessed first hand what they can do on a national level (Obamacare) if given the political power to force their agenda. Imagine if people like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, or Ocassio-Cortez every had the clout to pass laws they wanted. There wouldn't be anywhere to escape the stupidity without breaking out your passport.
Enact Sanders's or Warren's or Ocasio-Cortez's policies, and there will be more people breaking out of their passports than our leftists realize. And if they do, they will be taking a huge hunk of money out of our economy. Of course, depending on how those policies are enacted, they might not need to exchange passports, but if they do then there are plenty of places that would be glad to make it worth their while to do so. Muffy is not going to have to move to Mogadishu to escape. And even if she did, on the millions of dollars involved, Muffy could probably turn even Mogadishu into a decent place to live.
Here is my question for those who think that Sanders and Warren and Ocasio-Cortez are right with their "give you everything for free and make the rich pay for it" philosophy. Europe tried that 50, 60, 70 years ago. They don't do it that way any more. Why do they not do it that way any more? Did they find out what happens when you run out of other people's money?
They still have lots of "free" stuff, but everybody, not just the "rich," pays for it. Their taxes on the "rich" may be somewhat higher than ours (although in many cases they aren't), but their taxes on the poor and middle class are WAY higher than ours, particularly considering the impact of their consumption taxes.
