According to the article the justices were not unduly influenced - i.e., they would have ruled the way they did regardless. I’m not sure how you prevent such contact entirely. Federal judges are powerful and influential people who interact socially with other powerful and influential people. They can’t realistically be justice-monks in our current social framework.

It does go both ways - after all, the Roe v. Wade leak was deliberately widely publicized to put public pressure on the court to reconsider.
