Jesus... you're clearly the product of your generation where suggesting that someone bear the well known and established and natural cost of their own choices and mistakes is 'forcing their will' on someone.... and they're not just allowed to dump that mistake on to someone else. You choose the actions, you choose the consequences. You chose to have sex, you chose the possibility of getting pregnant... you bear the consequences. That's not 'me' forcing anything on anyone. 'I' had absolutely no part in that. It's pure and simple biology.

Quote:You clearly get the concept that banning abortions does force your will on that group of people.

No I don't. I'm not surprised though that you think me suggesting that you bear the burden of your own choices is somehow 'forcing my will' upon you. Laughable.

Quote:And you’re extrapolating this conversation, and my points I choose to make, well past their boundaries. Most notably by telling me how I am ignoring one significant part of the equation when I am explicitly responding to very pointed and specific points. Im not making the point you think I am, so nothing should baffle you.
Don't give a flying fart what point you're trying to make. I'm the one you responded to... it was my point. You're taking issue with my point and you're categorically wrong about it.

Whether you intend to or not, the VERY clear point you've just made is that you think being responsible for the unintended consequences of your decisions and actions is somehow 'me' forcing my will upon you... even though I had nothing at all to do with either your decision, nor your consequence. That's bad, but not horrible. What's horrible is that you don't even seem to want to MENTION that 'your answer' to your problem is to make the child pay (with its life) for your decision. Again, not speaking to whether or not this is the best of some bad options, just trying to get you to admit that the only person 'forcing their will' on anyone is the one deciding to get an abortion.

It being illegal to kill your born child isn't me 'forcing my will' upon you. You deciding to kill your child is. What is the difference, other than timing?

If owning an AR-15 only posed a risk to the individual owning it, or even limited to just on other person. then you might have a point. But since there is an obvious limit on the externalities of having an abortion, and there isn’t a limit on the externalities of owning a gun, your comment rings really hollow.

Someone owning an AR-15 poses no risk to anyone. Someone using it might, but a few million people seem to own them just fine with no accidents. When is the last time there was an 'accidental' death with an AR? You could cross off AR and put in ANY gun. Guns are not toys.

Seems to happen every day in Chicago.
