I would suspect that most issues where a pregnancy harms a mother are progressive --- most biologic functions are. Considering the term of the predicate is *not* 'immediately endangers' but 'endangers', my reading says that chronic progressive conditions that endanger the mother's life or major bodily function are exempted.
