This one was intuitively obvious from the beginning:

There is not and never was any clause expressly advocating the made-up "separation of church and state as a prohibition against the free practice of religion" in the Constitution. It just doesn't say that anywhere. What the Constitution does explicitly say is that Congress shall make NO law prohibiting the free exercise of religion; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
