That statement is literally highly incorrect. The progressive caucus in Congress has fought tooth and nail against measures to curtail elective late term abortions.

Well I meant nobody here but in general think it holds true. Late-term abortions are done very rarely and in very specific situations (nonviability of fetus, profound birth defects, extreme health risk to the mother)... I think abortions in the 8th-9th month are crazy rare.

The scenario presented was the expectant mother deciding right before delivery that she changed her mind and wanted to abort the fetus. I think that this situation doesn't actually happen and I don't know anybody who would support that specific scenario.

But it remains unchanged that efforts in the Congress to prohibit that action are actively opposed by the Democrat caucus.

That constant effort means one of 2 things. Either a) the feeling on late term abortions espoused by that activity is in fact the general feeling on the left (in contradiction to your statement above), or b) the entire Democrat caucus has staked an enormously radical position relative to the general consensus and that general consensus does not care about that position.

Not really being in tune with the progressive movement internals, I can’t tell which is the case.
