You are an engineer working as a consultant for XYZ company who is bidding to build a retention pond. Their bid was rejected in favor of a 'worse' one and they accuse the entity deciding of unfair practices. You are working with their legal team on that argument and tweet to a colleague that you have a great case against the deciding entity for collusion. Meanwhile, the CEO of the company you contract for is accused of hiring people to break their competitors equipment in an effort to cost them money and make them not be able to build the pond. Your wife is a prospective juror (which means she is MUCH more subject to recusal than a SCOTUS justice) in that criminal case. Do you think your wife would ignore the laws about criminal activities because you were paid to consult with them on legal activities? Or do you think she could be impartial?
