Can the NCAA define 'woman' (for the purposes of defining 'women's sports' under title IX) DIFFERENT than how a city might define 'woman' (for the purposes of defining 'women's bathroom' under building or occupancy codes)? How about the marines, or fire departments... or any of perhaps thousands of laws on the books today that have a component of 'gender' to them... especially those related to 'equality'??

Nobody is asking her for her personal view or opinion on something like gender... they are asking for her professional, legal opinion. If she has a personal view she'd like to share as well, that's fine... but nobody is interested in her recollection of high school biology.

Wouldn’t the legal definition be inherently tied to the scientific definition?
