Really? What's your evidence of that?

They reason things the same way, because they were taught the same reasoning methodology by the same professors at Harvard or Yale, and they don't have different legal career experiences, so they don't have different legal perspectives.

No, no, no. Don't you understand? The Supreme Court Justices can't have different perspectives because they are all fair and impartial. You know, like little uniform robots who interpret the law in the exact same way...

Maybe one day we'll be found incorrect, and there really is no benefit to having eminently qualified Justices with different academic pedigrees, legal experiences, etc. But until then, it seems far more likely that the court would be better off with increased diversity in all facets (with the obvious underlying assumption that the Justices are qualified and fit to hold the job).
