It's just like killing someone - intent has absolutely no influence on charging someone with murder.

Meaning to, planning to, etc. don't matter. The underlying issue, that someone died at your hands, is what dictates the outcome.

For your edification, murder is specifically defined specifically as an intent-driven act. From hundreds of years ago (or more).

Racism doesnt follow that trajectory. So no. It is *not* "just like killing someone'" It is, in fact, quite different than that.
