Everybody but Barrett (Notre Dame) went to one of two law schools, Harvard (Roberts, Breyer, Kagan, Gorsuch) or Yale (Thomas, Alito, Sotomayor, Kavanaugh). Except for Gorsuch (10th Circuit) and Barrett (7th Circuit), they all came to the Supreme Court from the northeastern echo chamber--1st Circuit (Breyer), 2nd Circuit (Sotomayor), 3rd Circuit (Alito), DC Circuit (Roberts, Thomas, Kavanaugh), or Solicitor General (Kagan). Also, in a majority-Protestant country, all justices are either Jewish or Roman Catholic. You're not going to get much intellectual diversity with such similar backgrounds, nor are their views apt to align with a huge part of the country.

The country is about 40% Protestant actually, but the current absence of Protestants on the court still a statistical and historical curiosity. No justices claim to have no religion, which is also at odds with demographics.
