I think this is true of everybody here and on every political board I know of. We come not to learn, but to teach. Or at least, to express our views and explain why we hold them.

I have made a few minor minor adjustments over the years, primarily on abortion, as I listen to people express their views. I have made a slight adjustment on the Wall. But slight adjustments are not what people want to see - they want converts.

Really, the only person I listen to is Ham, and that is because he can pull together so much from lots of different perspectives. He is close to persuading me to champion a different kind of policing. People yelling at me that America is oppressive or that police are inherently racist will never come close to that.

Numbers advocates various different systems, which mostly make sense to me. But I still prefer the Fair Tax, which also makes sense to me.

I appreciate the reasonable and learned explanations from George. But we did differ once, and that is not a comfortable position, even as polite as he is.

Tanq always can make sense of the legal labyrinth for me, and he has insights that continually astound me.

93 and Lad and Big are enigmas to me. But without a doubt, they are decent people. Just as I am sure there were some decent people who fought for (insert enemy here) or advocate (insert political cause here) there are good and decent people on both sides of every issue.
