I take those rankings with a ton of salt. most recruiting trackers just dont have a lot of information on the types of kids we (and other MAC schools) bring in.

I generally agree with your statement with a caveat or two.

These rankings CAN highlight a program which is (or has) recruiting VERY well, such as WMU or Toledo, etc. They can also spot teams doing very poorly.

With the rankings suffer the most is those teams in the 'mid-pack.'

i agree about when teams are doing well. when WMU or Toledo or NIU sign a four star or two yeah that matters. the rest... meh.
