Note: LSU, Auburn and Miss St didn't participate.
And the only home team to lose was Ole Miss. That's one thing that just keeps me from getting too riled up about basketball. Football has much less of a home field advantage than home court does in hoops. IMO this would be a better event as a tournament played at a neutral site to kick off basketball season, than as a one weekend affair after conference play has begun.
No conference would do this if it was a neutral site event. The excitement comes from home games against a good conference that normally doesn’t happen. And, all I’ve heard/read about the last 2 days in college basketball is this event, because it’s unique.
ACC and Big Ten have a challenge earlier in the year. This year the leagues tied 7 games a piece. (Wake Forest was the lone ACC school not playing this year).
This series has been played since 1999. Here's a link to the overall history of the series.

If I'm not mistaken this was a Big 12/SEC challenge. I don't care what loserville does in the acc.

?? Huh? I think everyone knows that.
You said the Big 12 - SEC challenge was unique ...
I was showing you it wasn't unique. And in fact, came much later than the Big Ten - ACC challenge.
Reread what I wrote. The unique piece had to do with the timing, not the event. SMDH.
