If they can somehow keep this high level up, they will draw more. Down south, it's all about college sports so a team like UNCW will have the most fans win or lose. College is king down here, but it can be at Hofstra too.

Most of us really can't understand that NE has a game at noon so that they can have a FREAKING hockey game at prime time. That is incredible for us to understand. That is crazy to us, but we don't live there.

Hofstra will get their fan base going soon for this year at least! Everybody loves a winner and this team should dance. Enjoy your ride because you guys deserve it by being 2nd fiddle all these years and yet having good teams all these years and not dancing! This is the year for the Pride.
Thank you. I hope the fan base gets going, but I'm not confident, and with Wright-Foreman graduating I don't know if making the NCAA Tournament will help attendance next season if Hofstra is average then. In 2006-2007 when Hofstra was picked first, their attendance was over double what it is now, and Hofstra's RPI finished 75th then compared to 57th now. NCAA sports aren't popular here, which allows Syracuse to call themselves "New York's College Team." Syracuse is farther from Madison Square Garden than George Mason is. Connecticut gets treated as a local team, and they're farther from Madison Square Garden that Delaware is. If you take the average attendance of the 6 teams in New York City other than St. John's weighting every team equally regardless of how many games they played, you get 915. Most NCAA sports fans would probably be surprised by its lack of popularity in New York City.

Northeastern is below the conference's average attendance in Men's Basketball and Hockey East for Men's Hockey. Hockey East for Men's Hockey has 60 percent higher attendance than CAA Men's Basketball. You and Charleston are the only CAA Men's Basketball teams with a higher attendance than Hockey East for Men's Hockey.
