You do know that's not the case here? If so we wouldn't really need a wall at the southern border because with in months that border would be located at the Mexican southern border. Lets put the Army with all their might at the Southern Border with the wall and I think you would have a different outcome than The Maginot Line. Surely you can find a example in modern times?

Hell put the Army with shoot to kill orders and we wouldn't need the wall or have this problem at all.

The wall would still be in place and while it might not stop everyone...it limits the numbers of people crossing. That's a proven fact.
