Not sure why? The SEC is loved by ESPN and all media talking heads. If the SEC can get 3 teams in an expanded CFP, it will happen whether you agree or not.

I hate speaking in absolutes but I'm quite sure the other P5 conferences have a say

The other conferences can say whatever they wish. But the SEC has made its stance clear. We aren't giving up the CCG, and we have no desire to expand the CFP.

Nothing would be more entertaining than the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, and Pac-12 voting to go to 8 and the SEC boycotting.

The ACC won't break ranks with ESPN on this. And they probably won't break ranks with the SEC either. Right now the system has worked well for the ACC. One could argue loosely that they have 2 teams in this year. And I don't think they would be advantaged by moving to 8. Most year's it will just make it harder on Clemson and F.S.U. to expand to 8.

If you really want to toss a monkey wrench into the gears then consider this. How much more money would the Big 10, SEC, PAC and ACC make if the Big 12 was absorbed into their ranks and then in contract negotiations they all voted to refuse the CFP, and instead formed their own playoff between them where they split the proceeds 4 ways and put those games up for bid the same as their regular season contracts?

Eventually these guys are going to wise up and start working together. If they set their football outside the auspices of the NCAA, established their own playoff system, and marketed it, they would make at least 25% more if not more than what they currently make by letting ESPN handle it.

That is EXACTLY how the BCS and CFP work. The conferences OWN it. Remember SEC was willing to create the "Alliance" game bypass the Sugar for their best available team and suddenly lost interest when the Sugar found more money.

All you are suggesting is to do what they already do except with one less voting member.
