Don’t assume that Rice would decline a B1G invitation.

I assume Rice will not have a chance to accept or decline a Big Ten invitation ... "no go" is that the Big Ten would not extend it.

Academic standing is a hurdle to clear, not a positive draw. Rice can clear the academic standing hurdle with any conference that wants to have it's athletics program ... which will not include the Big Ten.
