It was never very likely at all that we were going to do enough this year to get an at large bid and we really shouldn't look at the season through that prism. Penny can state whatever he wants, but realistically this team is going to have to overachieve to get into the NIT and really, really overachieve to get an at large to the NCAA (and really overachieve at the conference tourney to win the auto-bid).

Success for this year isn't defined by NCAA or not. It's going to be defined by the progress the team makes going into next year. It might even be worth our while to pay to go to one of the lesser tournaments if we miss the NIT just to get more experience under the belts of the frosh. This year should be a lot of fun. All NCAA "expectations" are going to do is ruin that for yourself.
