To me, not living in Boone, it seems that there is still some wariness of strangers in that area. Drinkwitz was a stranger and while people welcomed him, they didn't exactly embrace him. Now when you welcome someone and trust them at their word, while not embracing them, you get the "AHA!" moment that many App fans are going through now.

At any rate, most people suspect Clark is at the top of the list but no one knew, or those that knew didn't say anything, about Drinkwitz until it was announced. I suspect this will be the same.

Don't really see a scenario where Clark isn't promoted, given the time until recruitment and the uncertainty with the AD. Given how successful the promotion of Satt was, I'm sure the admin wants to see if lightning can strike twice by doing the same with Clark.
