Those heads turning when we grab their facemask is just an illusion.

I don't think anyone is questioning the facemark penalties.

Yes and no on one we did commit the facemask but the WR blocked the defender in the back while the defender reached for runner.

I don't have an issue with the facemarks being called. They were all obvious penalties. I have more of an issue with some of the other stuff not being called both ways. We were penalized 15 yards on the punt for not giving the receiver enough room when their player was right on top of Pop on a punt and no flag. Also, I agree with the safety and them being rewarded with a downed punt at the one when the ball broke the plane.

Regardless, we are still up and need to cut out the mistakes and take control of this game in the second half. Right now, neither teams deserves to win.

Didn’t know the refs could asses a PENALTY after reviewing a play of possession. Yes, the ball hit the cover team’s helmet, but the assessment of a penalty, I believe was incorrect. otherwise, why not apply a penty on the smu player, playing w/o a helmet on the safety call? Or review plays for offsides, PIs or any other judgement calls.
