There should be no surprise, especially considering the inherent ideals of modern progressivism actually require a rather good portion of 'smug asshat' when you stop and think about it.

Seems to be one side of that coin that: a) 'preaches' incessantly about the superiority of their view; b) inherently assumes what the proper guide of 'fairness' should be across the board; and c) seemingly automatically assumes that the full power of the governmental system be directed to *their* view of fairness.

And yes, I would say each of the 'leftists' here (those who actually post a cogent thought, i.e. excluding Mr Whack a Mole (AtEase) ) tend to put one or more of those precepts into their worldview, simply as being a 'progressive'.

I have only met two or three very deep progressives who werent smug asshats in that ingrained way, at the very least, to be honest. I havent found very many of them on these boards.

And, in another completely different plane, and unlike some, at least I have the backbone to actually say that straight out. I dont feel the need to dance around with items akin to indirect jabs at 'Trump's (followers, base, supporters)' in order to point out a moral preening superiority, nor dance around with 'oooohhhhh..... looky here Reagan is a RACIST' in an indirect snarky as fk way, as some apparently have that overriding urge to act out.
