Temple football was booted from the old Big East, partly because its attendance was so embarrassingly bad. The Owls were finally invited back just in time for the conference to implode.

They did make some headway with excellent teams and headliner opponents in recent years but history is definitely against urban universities filling off-campus NFL stadia on any consistent basis.

Just more evidence of the wisdom of UC leadership in renovating and expanding Nippert and the complete rebuild inside the four walls of Shoemaker. Great facilities are always an asset. And if the B12 or ACC comes calling, playing in these venues on campus is a distinct competitive advantage for UC.
