7-5 Houston who lost to Tulsa, Tulane and lost in their bowl game to G5 Fresno to finish the season. Sorry but no 7-5 G5 team should be ranked in preseason top 25

That literally wipes away all revelancy to that poll

Meanwhile, 11-3 Boise State who beat P5 Oregon to finish the season in a bowl game is not ranked.

is this poll about 2017?? you realize polls are about prognostication

you realize 8-5 Michigan, 7-6 florida state, 7-6 texas, 7-6 west virgina are all projected to be ranked high in all polls aswell???

you realize ucf was 6-6 before they went 13-0? what witch craft did ucf use???

Why are you comparing P5 teams with exponentially tougher schedules? And teams that finished expotentially higher than Houston in the final polls, #26 Michigan, #27 Texas, #28 Florida State meanwhile Houston #61

Name a 7-5 G5 team to ever be ranked in a preaseason poll

UCF wasn’t ranked preseason, they also had around 90th SOS before Auburn game and that factored in the CFP decision to rank a undefeated team not even in the top 10 but at #12.

Yes I know UCF had two of their toughest games cancel due to hurricanes/tropical but it worked at perfect for them to have no losses, but pitifully weak schedule to not even be considered by the CFP as legitimate top 4 but all down to #12

name a g5 with the 1 player in college football (hint the answer is never)

name a g5 with more 4 and 5star than houston this upcoming season (hint the answer is never)..(houston has 14+)
(note: Houston added 8 4star transfer most of which had significant minutes/starters at their old school)

houston was elite on defense last year. and is projected way better...... the offense is stacked on offense talent wise...they didnt produce much last year, but the most think it was scheme...houston hired briles junior who turned fau around in 1 season

Nonsense. I can't find anything that warrants Houston being top 25. Even the AAC coaches have UH picked 2nd in the West this year.

Also, ECU and SMU lead UH in recruiting as of right now.

Finishing second in the AAC west can get you a top 25 ranking, see 2015 Navy, so thats not really an insult.

As for the recruiting, we've got as much talent as any team in the league. Picked up several really nice transfers for this coming season. They aren't listed among the regular recruits but there's definitely a few impact players in that mix.

We may not be a top 25 team next year but a lot of our struggles last year were on the offensive side of the ball. We started three different QB's last year and had terrible play calling. We've finally settled on a QB in King, a former four star recruit, and we hired Kendall Briles, who I think we can all agree is a step up from what we had last year. Maybe we'll be mediocre again but there's definitely reason to be optimistic.
