IMHO with poor TV coverage it is too difficult to build up conference attendance spread out like that. People have to many convenient options today to regularly travel for 8 plus hours to see a game.

These are the realist OOC teams I would like Charlotte to regularly schedule home & home games with whose fans would travel well to Charlotte. Appalachian St, Liberty, ECU, Duke, Wake Forest, Coastal Carolina & Georgia St.

We need to play our conference games and build up our own fan base. However, we need to develop some regional rivalries that could help boost our average attendance. Who are some realist regional teams that could help boost your teams attendance?

App State fans sold out the September game already. Should be interesting to see the ratio of App to Charlotte fans. My assumption will be 55/45, App State, considering for most App fans, a trip to Charlotte is easier than a trip to Boone.
Yeah right......don't drink that koolaid.......App MIGHT have 25% there and that is probably a high estimate.

App will likely have at least 50%. Between Charlotte fans selling their tickets and the pick-up's App was able to get through their allotment and when tickets became available, this game should be well represented by App State. It's easier for many people to travel to Concord for a game than to travel to Boone and App has had back to back seasons of having a crowd of 35,000 for at least one game.

Having a game in Charlotte is that game this year.

You guys will have good rep for sure, but no way even NEAR 50%. You guys spouting this nonsense are really going to be disappointed.

A couple of years back ODU was humiliated by App on the field. But the interesting pre-game talk was that the App fans were going to attend this game with hundreds, in fact thousands of their fans were coming to Norfolk for the game. They gloated that their fans were coming to the game in droves as their fans always attend regional games with huge numbers.

As an ODU fan I knew that the stadium had sold out of Season tickets and the students would stand in line or reserve the 4,500 that were allotted for students. However they continued to proclaim they were going to have 1/3 or better of our stadium when we played App State. The best I recall they returned un-sold tickets the week before the game. Not to mention that it is like 300+ miles between the two Schools. LOL

I remember playing GA Southern a few years back (FCS Play-off) and ODU traveled with around 4K fans over 500 miles. The ECU game, NC State and Maryland game ODU's football team traveled with crowds of 4K -6K for those games. I'm not sure we would travel as well the last 2 years.

PS.... Game day with App, we had a monsoon. The rain and wind were horrible the entire game.
