I agree, but I the large universities we have been discussing (FAU, North Texas, and FIU) accounted for the top 3 conference records in C-USA last season, and 2 of those teams won their divisions. And of course all 3 went bowling in 2017.

As things stand now, all 3 should be among the better teams and all should go bowling again in 2018. The 3 coaches at those schools rank among the top four football coaching salaries in C-USA, and they represent the top 3 highest paid coaching staffs in C-USA too. If their success becomes a trend, then at some point you have to consider the money and potential as a factor. Time will tell.

And before that you had 3 years of Marshall(1), Western(2) conference championships and Tech and S. Miss playing in two and 1 of those championship games....

The low pay could be a reason why FAU was able to poach Tony Pecoraro away from Southern Miss.

How this season plays out will indicate whether or not our 2017 season was an anomaly. Personally, I think FAU, UNT, and FIU will again be among the tops in C-USA.
