That may be true, but it's not about basketball shoes vs football cleats, it's about advertising, apparel, the total package. Heck, Nike and Adidas make 10x more money (at least) on running shoes than they do on football cleats.

There's a reason UNC is #25 and Kentucky is #26 on that list.

Frankly, I think the shoe companies are pissing away money with all these multi million dollar deals. Of course, these aren't all cash deals either, they are cash and merchandise deals, and I'm sure the merchandise is reported at full retail price.
