Mt. Ida's campus is now owned by UMass - not the university system as a whole, but as an extension of the flagship campus. This move pissed off the UMass Boston and UMass Lowell campuses quite a bit, since it's just outside Boston and a lot closer to Lowell than Amherst. However, it will operate as a satellite campus that will allow UMass students to be more involved directly with Boston (for jobs/internships etc.)
