In which reality are we par with the mwc?

Hmmm...
Masseys Composite Rankings, Conf Avg, end of each year:
'13 AAC 72.05, mwc 79.04
'14 AAC 83.93, mwc 76.73
'15 AAC 68.95, mwc 86.79
'16 AAC 68.68, mwc 78.46
'17 AAC 66.69, mwc 83.81
Better 4 out of 5 years; in the year we weren't we were closer to them than they have been to us since.

Twice as many viewers
Better attendance every year - generally speaking 15-20% better
Recruiting rankings better top to bottom year after year

I've got head to head around here somewhere, but since 2013 the current lineup of AAC teams has a winning record vs current mwc teams
Edited to address your points (must have been typing at the same time):
Exposure clear advantage AAC - CCG on ABC vs ESPN or ESPN2, additional over-the-air games (USF-UCF this year, Houston-Memphis in '16, Houston-Navy in '15)
Basketball "competitive" still tbd, but we expect to be continually getting more tournament teams.
Budgets/coaches salaries edge to AAC
Facilities edge to AAC (couple notable exceptions - I guess CSU's new stadium is nice, and UNLV will play in NFL palace (hence all the PAC12 h&H games they're getting)
