Historically Tulsa might be a better football program but WMU's and Toledo's programs are growing and still see very similar attendance numbers compared to Tulsa. Just look at the recruiting rankings, a lot of the MAC beat Tulsa this year. Toledo and WMU on the rise.

Uneducated and surley, just churlish.

Dude we were in the freaking WAC with San Jose st and Hawaii. CUSA was a little better but we have games predominitley on week nights at home. Including Fridays in a state where highschool football is a religion. In a city where they love it so much the rivalry game Jenks/Union is recommended by ESPN as something to do before you die and had a documentary 30 for 30 made about. it

So we play on week nights, we didn't have great opponents, and I hardly call a 3 win season a good year.

Yet WMU and Toledo barely competed in attendance with truely regional long term rivals. That's not a good look. Then add in historically or recent on field success and it gets worse. We haven't even got to basketball yet, Olympic sports, tv ratings, academics, etc

Tulsa will always be under the radar recruiting. We have tough academic standards and lack "fluff" degree programs and a small alumni base meaning little opportunity for subscription sales. We seem to do just fine on the field though, at least looking at historic records and head to head competitions.

Sorry you're all triggered that the MAC's best fall short of lil ol Tulsa . . .

Bro, I'm not talking about the distance between schools, I'm talking about the quality of opponents that you matchup with. San Jose St and Hawaii are both way more attractive matchups than freaking Ball St or EMU who just a few years ago AVERAGED FOUR THOUSAND FANS PER GAME, it's honestly ridiculous. I know they are trying to make improvements but cmon, even on a bad year you should be able field at least 10k fans or you shouldn't be FCS. (btw EMU isn't the only MAC school that has pulled this)

As for the long regional rivals, the WMU/CMU game(as stated before) was played on a Wednesday night, and yielded 11k fans, if you look at past years, that game produces 20k+ fans(sometimes up to 30k). Nobody wants/can drive 2+ hours each way on a weeknight to watch a football game.

You obviously have no idea who San Jose st is. Or UTEP. Or Hawaii pre-June Jones. They not only match the Mac for pathetic but we're so far away no one in Oklahoma new who the hell they were. We play on week nights too. You're still not close to us in football and that's as close as you get.

It's over. The list of schools who bring more to the table as a conference add than any MAC team is long and includes some fcs teams.

2020 Toledo@Tulsa
2017 Toledo 54 Tulsa 51
2015 Toledo 32 #24 Temple 17 Boca Raton Bowl
2014 Toledo 34 @UCinn 58
2013 Toledo 45 Navy 44
2012 Toledo 29 #21 UCinn 23
2011 Toledo 36 @Temple 13

Btw, Tulsa drew over 4,000 more fans than Toledo's season average when they visited the Glass Bowl.

Interesting
