Because of how Green played once he came in for Marshman. He played well given how inexperienced he is, and showed enough promise to put him at the top of the heap.

Why wouldn't Green be the front runner? He may have been below Marshman at the start of last year, but there's no reason that should have any bearing on the situation going forward. And if Marshman performs better than Green in practice, I expect him to hop back over Green. I don't really see this coaching staff as being shackled to a single QB, regardless of talent.

When he came in for Marshman he was 1/6 8 yards and 2 ints. Did play a lot better the following week. This offense needs a duel threat QB is my point. Pocket passers, even when throwing for 300+ yards leaves us short.

I've got no vested interest in who our starter is, so long as they perform at a high level. Just liked what I saw in Green during the year and felt that he is poised to be given the reins unless someone else unseats him. I wouldn't be shocked if that happened.

Just wanted a take on why Green is over Marshman. Seems like it could go either way...plus Marshman is still a walk-on
