If all the school cared about was NCAA trips, why wouldnt they drop down to easier conferences to get in the NCAA tournament? You don't do that because conferences like CUSA are better than the Southern or MEAC or whatever other low major conferences there are.

In terms of recruiting, every recruit is different. But, playing in the Ted with our facilities is much better than playing in the Greensboro Coliseum. Awesome, they had 1 good year and seem to be on the right track. Unfortunately, they are at a level that with any success, the coach is gone because almost every other conference is a more attractive conference. At our level, there are still more attractive conferences, but the number is smaller.

I wish Hueitt the best. I just don't think kids make the smartest decisions (understandable for 18-21 year olds). But, hey if sitting out a year and playing 3 years in the Colisuem for a low major is what he's after, all the best to him. A far cry from what his offers were out of high school.

The point is I am willing to bet UNCG had more eyes on their team than ODU did last season. NCAAT exposure is huge. There's no reason to fault a kid for wanting that.

You tried jabbing him and making fun of him for this decision, and you are welcome to do that. But that's why I responded the way I did. I just take issue with people trying to make fun of him for making a decision that isn't nearly as bad as you are making it sound. Is it Louisville? No. But he still stands a better shot at playing in front of more eyes (in the NCAAT) than he does at ODU. It's really not as big of a downgrade as you are trying to make it seem, and I am certain that it's an upgrade in terms of getting exposure, if that's what he is after. That's the state of ODU basketball right now, like it or not.

I wish we were in a position to lose our coach due to success. #2 in CUSA (which you say is a better conference), and nobody wants to hire him away. What does that mean to you?

Who had eyes on UNC Greensboro? And if so, how does that translate to a financial gain for UNCG over what we got? How many viewers did UNCG/Gonzaga have at the 1:30 on TNT slot? (I couldn't find it)You really think Hueitt went to UNC-G for exposure? 3,000 people go to their games.....how many watch them on television?

Jeff Jones is almost 60 years old. There are not going to be many teams looking for him even if he was in the NCAA tourney every year. Wes Miller is 35 and has a .500 record over the course of 6 years at a low major. Maybe he has finally found gold and will elevate the program to something its never seen before.

I feel bad for Hueitt if he was wronged in any way. But, the way people were talking on here, you would think a big time school was going to come after him. Hueitt chose not to redshirt last year and seemingly (maybe not?) is upset over not playing. Instead of sticking it out and probably playing next year, he has to sit out another year and then will be playing in a low major conference in a stadium that is not ideal for UNC-G in front of 3,000 fans. If thats what he wants, hopefully he tears it up and is player of the year in the conference.

Do you know what schools contacted Michael since his name appeared on the transfer list? If so, tell us how you know and who all of them were. I would guess that UNCG was not the only school that contacted him, but that is pure speculation on my part. I would be surprised if I am wrong about that though.
