The college currently has 731 students and 284 employees.

Having 1 employee for every 2 students might explain why they are in such bad shape.

To me, the worst part is that they have been struggling for years and they still have this situation currently. Once a school is in desperation mode and is begging for state money, they should at least act like they are attempting to be fiscally responsible and are capable of making decisions that will ensure their long term survival.
