RE: Conference Realignment for D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and USCAA 2020 and Beyond
The USCAA has announced 8 new members for 2023-24.

Stanton University in California helps get the association better represented on the West Coast. California now has 2 members. Probably set to join the Southwestern States Intercollegiate Conference. Offers M/W basketball and soccer.

Beacon College in Florida is the 5th or 6th member there. Following how the USCAA has operated in other areas, I look for a new conference of Florida schools soon. Offers M/W basketball and cross country. Also has some club sports which could become varsity.

Quincy College, Massachusetts has Associate and Bachelors degrees. 4,500 students. Look for them to affiliate with the Yankee Small College Conference. Offering baseball, basketball, hockey, cross country and soccer.

Washington County Community College, Calais Maine solidifies the USCAA membership of a majority of Maines community colleges. Also likely to join the YSCC. Just offers M/W basketball.

Kennebec Valley Community College, Maine has 2,500 students. Offering outdoor sports for the time being, cross country, track, and golf. YSCC bound most likely.

Southern California Leadership University, in greater LA helps shore up membership in the West and is already affiliated with the Southwestern State Intercollegiate Conference. Offer baseball, men’s basketball, women’s soccer.

United International College from Miramar, Florida offers 10 sports already between men and women.

Lyon College from Arkansas is a provisional D3 member who just left the NAIA and is parking sports in the USCAA while they become post season eligible in the NCAA. Not likely to be around after 3 years or so.

Overall, one of the USCAA’s best crop of incoming schools ever. 7 of 8 are likely to be longer term members, and 7 have likely conference homes in place or in the works.

As the Yankee Small College Conference fills up, I expect some increased scheduling separation between the 4 year and 2 year schools. Due to geography, they often play each other, but enough members are coming on board, some needed separation may be in the works in certain sports, if I had to speculate.

Good year for the USCAA.
