There was some shake-up in membership, sure, but they're still playing basketball in one of the best conferences in the country under the Big East banner and spending their postseason in a sold-out MSG. The current Big East is true to the vision of the original Big East despite the partial turnover - remember, "Big East Football" came along well after the fact as an accommodation to members of the originally non-football-playing conference. If anything the Big East went back to their roots with the current lineup.

The idea that the Big East died is mostly a function of Syracuse grads at ESPN wanting to throw themselves a going-away 30 for 30 before becoming a second-class outpost of a southern-centric league.

I don't see what ESPN/ABC's numbers have to do with in-person experience.

The Greensboro Coliseum isn't a sold-out MSG, and Greensboro NC isn't Manhattan.

You are correct, it isn't MSG....it's different and some would consider it superior for a collegiate basketball tournament.

Those would be people who never attended a Big East tournament in MSG.

Those would be people in tobacco road. They are the only ones who think that Greensboro Coliseum is superior to MSG. They even said on another thread a few years ago that Greensboro Coliseum has more basketball history and tradition than MSG.

Why do you people keep trying to drag this stuff up over and over again?

Obviously there are some things that are important as you attempt to cling to memories and remember how things once were. It's evident that the Big East Tournament in MSG is one of those things.

The following were your words:

"some would consider it superior for a collegiate basketball tournament."

You brought it up! You gotta be kidding!
