Also, hate to say it but tough to call the BET the best conference tournament in the sport when it draws less than half the viewers the ACC tourney draws. The ACC tourney has the BET time spot prime time Saturday night. Last years ACC final was the #1 regular season basketball game of the year.

Typical Stever blather. The quality of the tournament is completely unrelated to the number of people watching. The best tournament would be determined by overall atmosphere and quality of play. This years BE tournament was played in the worlds most preeminent basketball arena, with wildly enthusiastic crowds, with 60% of the teams NCAA tournament bound, including two No. 1 seeds and the eventual national champion. It doesn't matter how many people from Albuquerque N.M. or Dubuque, Iowa were watching. Other leagues have far more schools with far larger enrollments, it stands to reason they would get more viewers. Two of the best college basketball games I watched this year were Gonzaga/ Florida and St. Bonaventure/Davidson. Using Stevers logic, I guess neither game was really all that good since they were late at night and not enough people were watching.i

typical Big East homer. Totally discounting TV. Always making excuses for why TV ratings are so low. The BET is a very good tournament.

The one thing I would say as well- major conference tournaments don't mean as much as they used to even 10 years ago. back then pre first 4, you would have had as known things Providence and Butler this year having to win their 1st game to just have any shot of making the tourney. So that's taken out the drama to some degree in the conference tournaments as a whole from the power conferences. Like it or not, so much of the story and narrative in the championship week is the NCAA bubble.

And you're a typical AAC homer. TV ratings have nothing to do with the quality of the BET. Stop always trying to move the goalposts. Butler and Providence "needed to win their first game " to get in the tournament. Sure Stever, that's why nearly everyone had them both in going into the tournament.

You're far more entertaining when you go into your rah, rah, AAC mode. Like when you posted the AAC was the "smidge of a bounce away from having two teams in this years Final Four", or when you proclaimed Temple a "near certain lock" for the NCAA tournament when they were 3-2 earlier in the year. That's the Stever that's far more amusing to read.

Um, Providence beat 2 tourney teams, to include Xavier a 1 seed, and took another 1 seed to OT, yet they were a 10 seed. If they lose their first game, they would have been nervous as hell going into the selection process. Their advanced metrics numbers were horrible. Butler was also only a 10 seed after beating a tourney team. You can put your head in the sand and ignore those facts, but that's on you. That's not moving your ******* goalposts. that is reality. You just want to say look Providence and Butler both made the tourney and they avoided Dayton. That proves they were locks going into the BET. Sorry but it doesn't work like that. Any one with a brain knows that. That's like the morons who said 2 years ago that see after Navy lost to Temple in the AAC title game that it proves that Western Michigan would have made the access bowl as the G5 rep.

Didn't you just say the conference tournaments are much better when there's a bunch of bubble teams involved? This seems like it would be an excellent thing for the Big East.
