Eh, schools like Duke and UNC and Notre Dame have national appeal at all times. That's not really a function of the ACC tournament. And we all know the BET is on FS1, so that has to factor as well.

That said, the ACC tournament is the "Granddaddy" conference hoops tournament, any non-delusional Big East fan will acknowledge that. When the Big East was formed, the MSG location was picked to try and model the Big East tournament on the ACC tournament, to try and capture what the ACC had.

And that never has changed. Of course, in a given year since 1980, the Big East tournament might have been 'better' than the ACC tournament, from the perspective of team quality or fan enthusiasm, but that never changed the overall fact that the ACC tournament is the #1 conference hoops tournament, and always will be.

But the BET is a great tournament in its own right, with tremendous competition and fan support, and we've maintained that despite the huge losses of quality programs we suffered during the 2010 - 2013 raids. That's awesome for us.
