There is a thread on the d2football board with people from APU strongly stating they have no desire to be D1.

The owner of the D2 Board called me to talk to me and explained that they're all about keeping D-II schools D-II and no one wants to move up but when they do, they're like woohoo we're D-I now see ya. I'm friends w/ him and a couple of other from there on FB since it was the 1st board I was on. AGS was the same way too and everyone left. I let them know about this place and some came here and the new FCS site. APU can't move D-I w/o a football home so they're happy until they do, if they do find one, it could change things fast.
