I don't think BYU will go anywhere for a few years, maybe 4 or 5 years, as it makes little sense to do anything before the Oklahoma decision.

Football would have to be part of a MWC deal. Most likely not as a conference member, but some kind of scheduling deal. The MWC would insist on that. It's foolish to think it wont be a major point of contention and negotiation. IMO, football, along with Sunday restrictions and media and credits compensation packages, will prove too much to overcome.

Yes, I agree Denver is significantly more likely than Seattle as a 10th with BYU staying. But I also think the WCC will stand on 9 for a couple years before making a move. Grand Canyon will be the other school in consideration. Both Denver and Phoenix are easy to get to and inexpensive flights compared to Seattle. Denver looks very similar to the more or less non religious USD and UOP schools of the WCC. Seattle looks most similar to Pepperdine (Protestant) and USF (also Jesuit), which have tiny fan bases, but very solid academics. GCU is the wild card, as they are institutionally a questionable fit, but they bring higher potential in athletics and some real money.

My bet is the WCC stands at 9 for 2019-20 and 2020-21, and if they add anyone in 2021-22 my money would be on Denver. Seattle is a better fit after BYU leaves.
