Agreed. Move up the men's and women's teams. Try to get a conference but be independent if we have to.

I think LU should go for the Hockey East Conference.
1) The Hockey East is a competitive and multi-bid conference.
2) They offer both mens and womens hockey.
3) They have room to grow both M/W hockey.
4) Notre Dame was in the conference so they are willing to add out of range schools.
4.5) Lynchburg is closer to the footprint compared to South Bend.
5) Gives the LU brand a presents in the north east.
6) LU can bring a huge school with a national brand to the Hockey East.

One drawback is the fact that LU would have a smaller (but not smallest) stadium in the Hockey East. An upgrade of 500-1000 seats would be helpful.
