Then the SWAC and MEAC could merge into one HBCU conference with a championship game to replace the Celebration Bowl.

I know that's a Longshot as SWAC schools seem to be content but that would solve a lot of problems

Why would the SWAC be concerned about any problems that aren’t theirs? Some of you realignment guys seem to think conferences will just take members to solve someone else’s slight “problem”.
Far from it.

If

The SWAC West schools left for the Southland

Then

The SWAC found be down to the bare minimum 7 with the MEAC already being st the bare minimum of 6 football schools (8 overall)

IF

The SWAC West schools chose geography over HBCU affiliation

Then

A SWAC MEAC merger would solve size problem both conferences would then be facing

Just fantasy talk with no base. Is there a news article that states any SWAC teams are wanting to leave?

If 7 schools leave the Big 10 then .....

You can make up any scenario you want.

A couple of years ago, Texas Southern's AD said they might look at a possible Southland invite since traveling to just Texas and Louisiana schools every year is the best way to save money on travel. They don't have to travel to Alabama every year. Now, they get an added travel to Florida.
