He was hurt during the 2006 season and missed about 3 or 4 games as I recall. That was when Toledo started using Summers and eventually took the redshirt off Opelt. He came back at the end of the year and was full go for 2007. Opelt had pretty much taken over by then, Summers transferred out (his younger brother stayed and was a fairly good LB/DE). Cochran only played in 5 games his junior year, and those games were spread out during the year. Funny thing is, a guy named D.J. Lenehan who I barely remember - had 2 big games that year as QB when he played the entire game against both Liberty and then Buffalo and had a QB rating of 162.1 and 131.4 - then only appeared in 3 more games after that and threw 19 passes in those 3 games in mop-up duty. He did not come back for 2008. Cochran started and played most of the final game of the year, with Lenehan having 1 of his mop-up roles in that game. Opelt was hurt and could not play. That was Lenehan's only season with the Rockets. He may have been the one who got hurt who did not come back - don't know.

Opelt threw all but 5 of the Rocket's passes in 2008, with 2 thrown by Nick Moore and 1 by the punter - B.J. Claus. Cochran did not return to play that year - and it was the last for Amstutz as HC. Our back up was Alex Pettee.
