Also, our transplanted alums and other Cincinnati-area expatriates are mostly located in ACC states (Florida, the Carolinas, Georgia, NY, MA). Colorado is home to a lot of natives from the Big 12 states.

I don't know what our future holds... would love the ACC for a lot of reasons, but I don't see the possibility at the moment (we are really going to need multiple shifts to get there). I think most likely we end up in some amalgamation of the Big 12 leftovers (affter a few defections) and the top group of the AAC. Better than what we have but not optimal.

Agree Clifton. I would add that our basketball program (while I know football drives the bus) has a better fit with the ACC as well. To your point about a future conference of "leftovers" it is not a bad thing for UC to be rebuilding its football brand with hopefully an upward trend of success in the coming years.
