Of course. You could throw crap on every movie theater screen in the world at midnight on December 15th and millions of people would have shown up if you called it Star Wars.

But this film has created a problem for Disney. The majority of that $800 million was made from old fans (the ones that went and saw the original Star Wars in the theaters back when we were kids). We showed up to see Luke and Leia and a story able the Jedi's battle against the restructured Empire. Han is dead, Luke is now dead, and Leia is dead in real life, and should be dead in the movie (that flotting back to the ship was crap). Chewbacca has shown no interest in avenging Han's death, and R2D2 and C3PO can't carry this terrible pile of poop for very long. I don't think the old fans are going to show up in the same numbers for future installments of this series. In fact, I think some of the spinoffs (like Han's film) will fair better then Episode IX.
