From what I was told, for political purposes, we didn't want to go ask for approval to spend another 2.5 mm on the NEZ project after already asking for approval to boost the budget by 10mm. We thought it would have bad optics.

The 2019 project will be about 5 mm, but we already have the 2.5 mm for the scoreboard approved.

So yes, the final renderings released won't have the new NEZ included.

They should have asked for the 12.5M project vs the 10M. The 10M covers cost increases and the new "Big Donor" party area that the majority of the fans will not benefit from. Where the north end zone and new scoreboard would have benefited everyone. Again, little guy is forgotten. Sad.

I think its a strategic move esp with what ODU Admin has to deal with when asking for add'l funds in that snake pit of an assembly. I am fine with it as long as we have that scheduled for 2020. I see why Admin pushed for that Big Donor thing at a time of severe need for money. I am not sure how many add'l Suites/loges we will be getting but they better have more because those are the cash boxes.
