Here we are redoing our house and basically keeping our entertainment system with 2000's technology, sound, and a smaller poor resolution screen. The scoreboard at FBS venues drives game atmosphere. Liberty gets it. ECU, gets it, VT Gets it and we are staying and thinking like an FCS program and trying to cheap our way out again. Total project including the cost of the upgraded top of the line scoreboard and relocation is right around $3m. The budget has about $2M for the new scoreboard so we are $1m off. Also, there could likely be some cost adjusting/ savings because the sound system would be part of the new scoreboard/game entertainment system. This is a HUGE mistake if they don't do it now and try to wait until phase 2 (2021) which will likely NEVER happen.

Not to mention the actual screen is bad. I'm not talking about size but the LED's seem old and starting to fade. Not to mention there's a pink square in there as well, it need to be upgraded.

I agree but it should not be done in a way that would impact the future north endzone. Either do it right and put it in the right location or wait a year or 2 even if it sucks. Relocating a new scoreboard is not an option.
