As for Wilder, I'm not sure he is the man for the job either. But we have options to raise the salary pool for our football staff. We could play a body bag game(s), we've been offered close to 2 mil in the past. One per season would more than cover additional costs for a more expensive coaching staff.

We cant afford to do any body bag games for the foreseeable future because we have home and homes w our P5 opponents. And thats a good thing. If we add a body bag game and start playing 3 P5s each year we put ourselves in a position of not having very many winning records. Bowling is important... as much for the extra practices and recruiting advantage as for the exposure and reward.

After 2020, we only have 1 season where more than 1 is scheduled (2022). The rest of the decade would allow us to keep one game for the series' with VT and UVA and still have a body bag game, playing 2 P5s a season.
