For the record, i don't think it should matter if they were a HC or not. If one sample size is too small to judge in one case, it's too small in the other as well. Can't have it both ways

We're drawing from a large sample of HC experience from Coach Barefoot. McGrath had zero HC experience from which to draw from.

The Wes Miller discussion is relevant here. His first 4 years at the HC level were lousy. His 5th year? Stellar. So of course it matters if he/she was a HC or not previously.

Keatts coming in and having great success right away as a HC was an aberration, not the rule.

Now, can we NOT turn the lone Women's thread into a Men's thread please?

The Beat and the Beard actually discussed that in their last podcast. Mike (I think it was Mike) mentioned that perhaps Keatts' experience as a HC at Hargrave Military Academy (Prep School) gave him something to build on there and at the least afforded himself an experience in a HC position prior to taking the reigns at UNCW.
